Zugangsbeschränkungen
Den Direktkauf über unseren Verlagsshop können wir derzeit aus steuerrechtlichen Gründen leider nur Kunden anbieten, die ihren Wohnsitz oder gewöhnlichen Aufenthaltsort in Deutschland oder einem anderen EU-Mitgliedsland haben.
Alle anderen finden jedoch auf den Produktseiten die entsprechenden Links, die direkt zum selben Buch bei den jeweiligen Online-Händlern führen.
Für die Zukunft ist eine Erweiterung der Zugangsmöglichkeiten unseres Shops geplant.
Kundenkonto
Wenn Du ein Kundenkonto bei apebook eröffnest und Dich zukünftig damit anmeldest, werden Deine einmal angegebenen Rechnungs- und Lieferdaten bei Käufen automatisch vorausgewählt. Es ist also vor allem dann sinnvoll, wenn Dir das Angebot des apebook Verlags gut gefällt und Du auch in Zukunft voraussichtlich bei uns Bücher kaufen möchtest. Daneben hat ein Kundenkonto noch weitere bequeme Vorteile, so kannst Du z. B. Deine Bestellungen und Downloads verwalten oder die dort hinterlegten PDF-Rechnungen Deiner Käufe ausdrucken.
Wenn Du ein neues Kundenkonto anlegst, schickt Dir apebook eine eMail mit einem Bestätigungslink an die von Dir angegebene eMail-Adresse. Solltest Du in Deinem Posteingang keine solche eMail finden, prüfe bitte auch Deinen Spam-Ordner bzw. Junk-Ordner (Outlook). Je nach Filter-Einstellungen können eMails von bisher fremden Absendern auch dort landen…
Solltest Du aber kein Kundenkonto einrichten wollen, ist das auch okay. Bücher kaufen kannst Du bei apebook so oder so, mit oder ohne Konto.
eBooks kaufen
Ein gekauftes eBook kann von der Kundin oder dem Kunden max. 4 mal heruntergeladen werden. Hierdurch soll gewährleistet werden, dass die Kundin oder der Kunde – trotz möglicherweise auftretender technischer Probleme bei der Datenübertragung – in jedem Fall ein Exemplar des erworbenen Titels empfängt.
Der mögliche Abrufzeitraum für ein erworbenes eBook beträgt 30 Tage ab Zeitpunkt des Kaufs. Nach Ablauf dieses Zeitraums verfällt die Wirksamkeit des übersandten Downloadlinks.
Solltest Du das von Dir gewünschte eBook im MOBI-Format (Kindle) benötigen, und es steht auf unserer Seite bisher nur als EPUB (Tolino etc.) zur Verfügung, kannst Du das eBook entweder über den entsprechenden Link auf der Buchseite bei Amazon kaufen oder aber eine Mail an uns schreiben mit Verweis auf Deine Buchbestellung. Wir schicken Dir dann das eBook im MOBI-Format zu. Oder aber Du kaufst bei apebook und wandelst das EPUB selbst mit dem kostenlosen Programm “Calibre” für Deinen Kindle um. Wie das geht, erfährst Du im Folgenden.
EPUB-eBooks mit Calibre auf Kindle-Reader übertragen
“Calibre” wandelt eBooks in ein für Kindle-Reader lesbares Format. Das eBook wird dabei direkt auf den Kindle übertragen. Das Programm gibt es sowohl für Windows als auch für Mac. Hinweis: Die Vorgehensweise funktioniert nur bei eBooks ohne DRM (Kopierschutz), was aber auf alle eBooks von apebook zutrifft.
- Schließe Deinen Kindle per USB an den Computer an.
- Installiere “Calibre” und öffne das Programm. Dein Kindle wird von der Software automatisch erkannt und unten angezeigt.
- Ziehe das gewünschte eBook per Drag and Drop ins Calibre-Fenster. Oder nutze den Button “Bücher hinzufügen” und wähle dann das entsprechende Verzeichnis.
- Dann markierst Du das Buch, das Du umwandeln und übertragen willst, und klickst danach oben im Menü auf “An Reader senden”. Dadurch wird das eBook auf den Hauptspeicher Deines Kindle übertragen.
- Jetzt kannst Du Deinen Kindle vom PC trennen. Falls das neue eBook nicht bereits auf Deinem Reader sichtbar ist, startest Du ihn neu. Und spätestens dann ist es da und Du kannst es lesen.
Es ist gar nicht schwierig. Und Calibre ist ohnehin ein sehr praktisches Programm, um die eigenen eBooks zu verwalten. Insofern ist eine Installation sowieso nicht verkehrt.

Restricted access
For tax reasons, we can currently only offer direct purchase via our publishing shop to customers who have their residence or usual place of residence in Germany or another EU member state.
All others, however, will find the corresponding links on the product pages that lead directly to the same book at the respective online retailers.
For the future we plan to expand the access possibilities of our shop.
Customer account
If you open a customer account with apebook and log in with it in the future, your billing and delivery data will be automatically preselected for purchases. So it is especially useful if you like the offer of the apebook publishing house and you want to buy books from us in the future. In addition, a customer account has other convenient advantages, e.g. you can manage your orders and downloads or print out the PDF invoices of your purchases.
When you create a new customer account, apebook will send you an email with a confirmation link to the email address you provided. If you do not find such an email in your inbox, please check your spam folder or junk folder (Outlook). Depending on the filter settings, emails from previously unknown senders may also end up there…
But if you don’t want to create a customer account, that’s okay too. You can buy books at apebook anyway, with or without an account.
Buy eBooks
A purchased eBook can be downloaded by the customer max. 4 times. This is to ensure that the customer – despite possible technical problems with the data transfer – receives a copy of the purchased title in any case.
The possible retrieval period for a purchased eBook is 30 days from the date of purchase. After this period the effectiveness of the sent download link expires.
If you need the eBook in MOBI format (Kindle), and it is only available on our site as EPUB (Tolino etc.), you can either buy the eBook via the corresponding link on the book page at Amazon or write an email to us with reference to your book order. We will then send you the eBook in MOBI format.
Or you can buy from apebook and convert the epub to your Kindle using the free “Calibre” program. You can find out how to do this in the following.
Transferring EPUB eBooks to Kindle readers with Calibre
“Calibre converts eBooks into a format readable by Kindle readers. The eBook is transferred directly to the Kindle. The program is available for both Windows and Mac. Note: The procedure only works for eBooks without DRM (copy protection), but this applies to all eBooks from apebook.
Connect your Kindle to your computer via USB.
Install Calibre and open the program. Your Kindle will be automatically detected by the software and displayed below.
Drag and drop the desired eBook into the Calibre window. Or use the “Add Books” button and select the appropriate directory.
Then select the book you want to convert and transfer, and click “Send to Reader” at the top of the menu. This will transfer the eBook to your Kindle’s main memory.
Now you can disconnect your Kindle from your PC. If the new eBook isn’t already visible on your Reader, restart it. It’ll be there when you’re ready to read it.
It’s not hard at all. And Calibre is a very handy tool for managing your eBooks anyway. So an installation is not wrong anyway.
